For many of us, The Nightmare Before Christmas has become as much of a holiday tradition as the stop-motion animation classics that inspired it. Jack, Sally, Zero, and the rest of Halloween Town have enchanted our imaginations (and filled our collectibles shelves) ever since the movie arrived in theaters in October 1993. Blumhouse and Universal will bring back The Black Phone director Scott Derrickson to helm the sequel to the popular horror movie. A release date was set for the film back in October, with The Black Phone 2 set to premiere on June 27, 2025, per Deadline. Details surrounding The Black Phone 2 remain scarce, but it has been confirmed that Ethan Hawke will reprise his role as The Grabber, which was the one condition that Derrickson had for returning to the franchise.

In a sit-down with conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson, Spacey reprised the role of Frank Underwood to discuss current politics and Netflix. Just as the new trailer for Ncuti Gatwa's first season of Doctor Who was released, the actor Richard Franklin (not to be confused with the Australian director) passed away. He starred in more than 40 episodes of the iconic BBC sci-fi show, becoming iconic for his role as Captain Mike Yates, a member of the British military organization UNIT which helped defend Earth from alien attacks and often worked with the Time Lord. Franklin was 87 and died in his sleep on Christmas Day.
